This report reviews existing research into teenage pregnancy and sexual behaviour, discusses factors associated with early sexual initiation and teenage pregnancy, and outlines some of the outcomes associated with adolescent pregnancy and childbearing. It also examines the effectiveness of programs designed to promote adolescent sexual health and prevent pregnancy either through educational interventions or the provision of contraception and sexual health services.
