This paper outlines the increasing problem of teenage pregnancy in America and suggests that its root causes are increased sexual activity at an earlier age, changing attitudes of young people towards premarital sex, and the attitudes of parents towards sex and marriage.  It also examines the consequences of the rise in pregnancies including increased rates of highschool dropouts and a decline in marriage rates.
