This study reveals that only half of sexually active teens discuss contraception and STDs with their partner prior to having sexual intercourse for the first time. Males, whites and Hispanics were least likely to discuss these issues while teens with higher levels of communication with parents and those participating in dating activities were more likely to discuss contraception and STDs.
