This article discusses the serious and growing problem of sexually transmitted diseases in the United States, and argues that Americans need to practice healthier sexual behaviour. It also calls for greater action to be taken on this issue, increased financial support for this undertaking, effective targeting of prevention programs, and universal access to services.
