This paper argues that anonymous gamete donation should be changed in medically assisted conception.  After a look at the history of gamete donation, child outcomes, and life experiences of donor-conceived children, the author suggests that assisted reproductive technologies give less consideration to the lifetime consequences of donor offspring than to meeting the needs of infertile couples.
