Playing With Daddy: Social Toy Play, Early Head Start, and Developmental Outcomes

Researchers in this study monitored father-toddler social toy play in relation to child development, fathers' mental/social wellbeing and enrolment in the Early Head Start program.  Researchers found that fathers who engaged in more complex play contributed more to their toddlers' development and that fathers' psychosocial well-being limited this development especially in cases where fathers were depressed.
