This study examines boys' perceptions of the role that their parents, particularly their fathers, should play in the family.  It suggests that these boys have changing expectations of fatherhood, and so desire fathers who not only provide financially but are also nurturing.  The author suggests that there is a declining perception of separate gender roles in the family, as boys would like both mothers and fathers to be nurturers and economic providers.
