This study explores the gender role attitudes of young men and women in Sweden to determine whether these attitudes influence the age at which young people become parents.  The study found that men with more traditional gender attitudes toward parenthood were more likely to experience fatherhood at younger ages.  The study also found that women with more egalitarian views of parenthood saw fewer benefits to parenthood than did women with traditional gender attitudes.
