This report examines the extent to which foster care experiences differ for children and youth depending on whether they are placed in rural or urban counties.  It explores the effects of geographic location on caseload trends, risk of entry into care, demographic composition of foster children, likelihood of leaving care, placement duration, exit destinations and patterns, and discharge patterns.
