This paper discusses the results of a study on adolescent girls and their experiences with physical and verbal fights, both with their parents and friends. It finds that verbal fights tended to result in more negative feelings than physical fights, and that girls were not as willing to be held responsible for fights with their peers as they were with their parents. The authors discuss what these findings  mean in regards to the treatment of young offenders and the development of public policy.
