This report examines illegal and legitimate employment among men involved in "Fathers at Work", a national program intended to help economically disadvantaged, noncustodial fathers obtain living-wage employment, become more involved in their children's lives, and make required child support payments.  Based on interviews with 27 men who were involved in hustling, the author describes factors that contribute to young fathers' involvement in illegal work, as well as what motivates them to seek legitimate employment.
