This study examines infant feeding practices and some of the factors that affect these practices among women who participate in programs to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV in KwaZulu-Natal.  The authors discuss the benefits and risks associated with breastfeeding and formula feeding in this context, given the fact that HIV can be transmitted through breastmilk.
