This paper argues that religion serves to preserve marriage and sound moral judgement while discouraging social ills such as crime, divorce, cohabitation, suicide, out-of-wedlock births, and drug abuse. It also links religion to personal health, happiness, and overall well-being, thus encouraging policy makers to integrate religion into future solutions for social problems.
