This 2001 case looks at whether the definition of marriage, which prohibits same-sex marriage, is contrary to the Charter of Rights and freedoms.  Justice Pitfield rules in favour of keeping the traditional definition of marriage as being between one man and one woman, ruling that no constitutional rights are violated by maintaining this definition.
