This paper, using measures of race and educational attainment, examines trends in the proportion of women in the United States who will marry by age 45.  It also discusses the potential effect of delayed marriage on the characteristics of marriages that occur, and it pays particular attention to the rates of premarital births and the likelihood of a birth in the decade following a delayed marriage.
