This paper demonstrates that, while divorce rates for white Americans have leveled off since the 1980s, rates for African-Americans continued to increase into the 1990s.  It also looks at the effects of various risk factors on rates of marital break-up and finds that teenage marriage and pre-marital childbearing are associated with increased risk of disruption among white couples.
