This paper provides an overview of the demographic characteristics of couples in same-sex marriages in Sweden and Norway, including age, sex, experience of prior opposite-sex marriage, biological parenthood, and educational attainment.  It also examines their risk of divorce and finds that divorce risk levels are substantially higher in same-sex unions than in opposite-sex marriages, particularly in female partnerships.
