This paper discusses the approaches that courts and legislatures are taking with regards to disestablishing the paternity of children born within a marriage. It discusses reasons why people may want to do this, analyzes the benefits and drawbacks of different approaches, and advocates the adoption of the Uniform Parentage Act, which seeks to address some of the major concerns of the parties involved in these processes.
