This article highlights research showing that regular religious practice is beneficial to families, communities and larger society.  The author argues that people who engage in regular religious practices are less likely to be involved in drugs, crime, delinquency or alcohol addiction and policy makers should be supportive of faith-based groups and individuals because of the positive effects they have on society.
