This article argues that religion has a significant influence on an individual's attitudes on sex, marriage, and family. It suggests that biblical teachings may act as a deterrent to adultery, divorce, and premarital sex, and indicates that religious people have longer and more satisfactory marriages, participate in fewer risk behaviours, and are generally happier and healthier than those who do not consider themselves to be religious.
