This study examines the viewing habits of children ages 2 to 24 months as reported by parents. The authors found that parents allow children to view television and DVDs for entertainment and education purposes as well as using the medium as a form of childcare. The authors call for further research while discouraging the heavy use of television suggesting that parents view television and videos with children.
