This paper explores the findings of the National Cultural Values Survey and concludes that Americans feel moral values are in decline partially because of the influence of news and entertainment media. The study examines public perceptions of the media and the relationship between the volume of media consumption and moral values held by Americans. The National Cultural Values Survey was conducted in December 2006 from a sample of 2000 American adults.
