This report presents the findings of a 1996 survey that asked teens and their parents about their attitudes on substance abuse.  It outlines some characteristics of teens and their parents that affect young people's level of risk for substance misuse.  It also discusses the availability of drugs in schools and emphasizes parents' responsibility to protect their teenagers from substance abuse.  The surveys used for this study are provided in the appendices.
