This paper examines the relative poverty levels of immigrants and native-born citizens in Denmark and Sweden.  It finds a significant poverty gap between these societal groups in both countries, reflecting the increasing poverty of immigrants coming to these countries.  Differences between the two countries are discussed and explained in terms of the varying composition of the immigrant population and differing structures of benefits to families with children.
