This paper investigates the impact of family structure on children's educational outcomes by comparing the academic performance of children in traditional and blended families. It finds that children in stable stepfamily homes have lower educational achievement than those from two-parent, married families, which indicates that marriage is beneficial in promoting positive child outcomes.
