This paper discusses the relationship between family structure and children's educational outcomes by comparing two-parent, single-parent, and blended families. It finds that children raised in traditional families perform better academically than children in single-parent or step-family homes, although children from families headed by widows fare the same as those from two-parent traditional homes.
