This report uses data from the 1990 and 2000 censuses to provide state profiles of child well-being in the United States.  For each state it looks at five elements of child well-being: the rate of child poverty, the number of children in lone-parent families, the rate of high school dropout, the number of children who do not have a good grasp of the English language, and the number of children living in very poor neighbourhoods.
