Using data from the the National Longitudinal Survey of Children and Youth (NLSCY), this report  seeks to explain children's outcomes in terms of family background, family processes, and community factors. The results of this study show that although this region is primarily composed of low to medium socio-economic communities, the physical health, cognitive skills, and behavioural patterns of  its children are mostly positive.
