Using data from the National Longitudinal Survey of Children and Youth (NLSCY), this study examines (1) how the relationship between family function and child injuries are mediated by parent and child behaviour, (2) whether family economic status or neighbourhood disadvantage are more strongly related to child injury, and (3) the developed model’s ability to predict child injury in two years.
