This document contains two papers which discuss the impact of substance use and mental health on poverty, socio-economic status, and academic performance. They also look at the impact of peer relationships, family structure, parental values, and level of parental involvement on teen's substance use and mental health. Lastly, they offer suggestions and strategies for health prevention and promotion programs.
