Single mothers in Ontario: sociodemographic, physical and mental health characteristics

This study used data from the 1991 Ontario Health Supplement survey to examine the differences in socio-demographic, physical and mental health characteristics between mothers in two-parent and single parent households in Ontario.  It found that, compared to mothers in two-parent families, single mothers were more likely to be poor, have mental health problems, and use mental health services.
