This paper looks at five forms of maltreatment (physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, exposure to wife abuse, emotional abuse) and how they affect adolescent risk behaviour. The research shows that there is a significant relationship between maltreatment and participation in risk behaviours such as substance abuse and attempted suicide.
