This paper explores the impact of wife assault and abuse on the emotional and behavioural outcomes of children. It suggests that aggressive behaviour, poor educational achievement and social development, delinquency, and depression in children are all related to the experience of seeing their mother abused by their father. This article also discusses public policy issues concerning spousal abuse and child protection.
