This paper looks at the ways in which men and women's success in securing employment is affected by their spouse's income.  It finds opposite effects for men and women, as women whose spouses earn high incomes take longer to find a job than those whose spouses have lower incomes, while men whose spouses have higher incomes find employment more quickly than those whose spouses are in lower-income positions.
