This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the various factors contributing to substance abuse among young females. It emphasizes the differences between boys and girls with respect to the reasons for substance abuse, indicators of use, and health risks associated with substance abuse.  It also examines the effectiveness of existing prevention and intervention programs, and makes suggestions for their improvement.
