This report surveyed 1600 women ages 20 -65 in addition to 48 in depth interviews examining beauty in the context of self, social structure and one’s own life. The survey found that many women separate the idea of looks from beauty. The majority of respondents reported that they are of average or above average looks but far fewer said their beauty is above average.
