This paper examines the importance of adolescent emotional regulation and coping, affect and mood, and feelings about self, and discusses individual, family, peer, school, and neighbourhood factors that are associated with positive mental and emotional health for adolescents .  The implications of these findings for policies, programs and interventions are also discussed.
