This brief paper gives an overview of youth crime and violence in the US, including a discussion of the prevalence, causes, and preventions of juvenile delinquency. Substance use, peer influences, family problems, and high risk neighbourhoods are all found to be significant contributors to the onset of adolescent violent behaviour.
