This study provides an overview of factors that contribute to youth homelessness, and discusses the relationship between homelessness and involvement with the child welfare system.  It finds that youth who were involved with the child welfare system, in particular those who had negative experiences, had elevated rates of homelessness.  Negative experiences included being placed in a group home, or having numerous placements.
