The More the Merrier? The Effect of Family Size and Birth Order on Children’s Education

This study seeks to determine what, if any, causal relationship exists between both family size and birth order, and educational attainment.  After controlling for extraneous variables, the researchers conclude that there is no causal link between family size and education.  With regards to birth order, however, they find strong connections, with younger children likely to have less positive outcomes in terms of employment and education than their older siblings.
