This study reports an increase in long term post-birth employment over the last two decades. The author also suggests that short term employment increased and then dipped after 2000. Mothers experienced a greater earnings drop in 2000 but recovered more quickly than previous decades. Trends have been influenced by policy and increased educational attainment.
