This report examines housing affordability in Canada by measuring the percentage of Canadians who spend 30 percent or more of their income on housing. The study determined that 20 percent of Canadians spent over 30 percent of their income on housing. The authors suggest that several variables such as family structure influence how much an individual’s income goes to housing.
