Healthy Immigrant Children: A Demographic and Geographic Analysis
| In looking at data from the National Longitudinal Survey of Children and Youth (NLSCY), the authors identify barriers — such as language proficiency and family structure — that immigrant children and children of immigrants may face in accessing social services, health care, and service networks. The study confirms that a child’s experience is more dependent on the characteristics of the household than the characteristics of the child.
