In presenting and analyzing data from the 1985, 1990, and 1994 Surveys of Consumer Finances (Statistics Canada) on family incomes, this paper’s purpose is to further the understanding of family income inequality trends by examining the level, distribution, and redistribution of family income by family type and by age of family head.
