This report offers highlights from two surveys conducted on how Canadians give, volunteer and participate in their communities.  The report shows that 85% of Canadians gave money to charitable and non-profit organizations in 2004, 45% volunteered their time to a charitable or other nonprofit organization and 66% belonged to a group, association or organization.  The report stresses the importance of social involvement in Canadian society.
