This paper examines trends in the educational attainment, age, and assets of individuals who are getting married in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Mexico, the Phillippines, and South Africa. Overall, the authors document increases in all of the above measures, although there are considerable difference between countries and, in some countries, between men and women.
