This report found that post-retirement employment was most prevalent among individuals who had retired in their 50’s and were experienced, well educated and in good health. While many retirees re-entered the workforce motivated by financial reasons, they also indicated intrinsic aspects of work influenced their choice. The authors predict that future Canadian retirees will increasingly re-enter a shrinking labour market, better educated and healthier than previous generations.
