This paper compares the quality of education in public and private schools and finds that religious schools are slightly inferior in mathematics and science, yet benefit from increased security and discipline, greater opportunities for specialized courses, and extracurricular activities. This paper also finds that minority students fare better academically in private schools than in the public education system.
