This study concluded that students with lower reading levels at age 15 had a more difficult time graduating from high school and were more likely to drop out of high school or to remain in highschool later than their peers.  The results showed that reading proficiency levels at age 15 affected participation rates in post-secondary education at age 19, even when controlling for other factors.
