This paper investigates the relationship between father absence and child outcomes, including academic performance, levels of educational attainment, psychological well-being, behaviour, and early life transitions. The research indicates that, in all areas, children from single-mother homes experience a greater deal of economic hardship, and fare worse than children in two-parent families.
